Cut Down on Energy Bills!
- 9:55 am - October 31st, 2017
If you’re like most homeowners, you’re always looking for ways to cut down on your energy bills. Here are three inexpensive ways you can!
- Seal doors and windows – Do you ever feel like money is escaping through the cracks? It just might be… Over time, gaps can form around doors and windows, allowing warm air to escape your home while cold air enters. This forces your heating equipment to work harder to keep your home warm. Reduce those monthly bills by attaching a bottom seal to your doors and caulking around windows.
- Let in the sun – The sun is a great way to keep your home warm in winter… and it’s free! Make a habit of opening the curtains on east-facing windows in the morning. Then, in the afternoon, uncover your south-facing windows, as the south side of your home receives the most sunlight. When the sun goes down, close the drapes to keep the warmth in.
- Annual check-up – Preventive maintenance can reduce your energy bill by up to 10 percent. Having your heating equipment checked before winter will not only help protect you from a no-heat emergency, but also reduce the likelihood you’ll be saddled with expensive repairs. As part of your service contract, we’ll check the health of your heating system annually.
